I'm a pro at getting muscle knots or as I call them, tension knots. These little things are brutal and have caused me significant amounts of pain in my life. I mean why wouldn't they? They're brought on, in my opinion, by stress, worry, tension, grief, sadness, really by any negative feeling that is in excess and I do have them in excess!
